Houston County occupies the southeast corner of Minnesota, lying just south of I-90 and bordering the Mississippi river. Its estimated 2001 population was 19,940 on 558 square miles. It is home to Beaver Creek Valley State Park, Wild Cat Landing County Park and Campground, state forest land and many recreational area.
